This recipe has been added to our regular rotation. It'due south the outset time I've added Cajun seasoning to a dish and nosotros LOVE information technology! That, with the sausage, makes for an astonishing flavour combination. I practice add together the peas for color and considering they go so well with the dish. I usually do just 1 cup of heavy cream, and and so i cup of one-half & one-half or milk, to cut calories (though I've read that one-half & half tin become lumpy if overheated, I've never had that consequence...yet). Exercise endeavor this like shooting fish in a barrel dinner tonight!**Update 12/14** I simply realized that the recipe above does not list peas every bit an optional ingredient. On the Hilshire Farms website, where I originally discovered this recipe, it mentions adding a cup of frozen peas to the pasta during the last infinitesimal of humid. And, as I said before, it is adept with the peas!

This recipe was and then good! I made information technology last night & accept already given information technology out to at least four different people! I started by sautéing an onion and four cloves of minced garlic. I only used 1.5 tablespoons of Cajun seasoning because I didn't want information technology to be too hot for my little eaters. I did add defrosted frozen peas to it equally another reviewer suggested. Would also be good with Castilian. Everyone loved it in my business firm!! Will keep recommending this recipe! Mmm!!!

I substituted campanelle pasta for penne. I sauteed the kielbasa in 1 Tbls of butter and one time browned, stirred in 1 Tbls of flour to make a quick roux of sorts. This helped to thicken the sauce in one case I stirred in simply ane 1/two cups heavy foam. I used 1 tsp Cajun seasoning equally I was feeding 4 piffling boys and used fresh shredded Parmesan. I also added peas to the pasta every bit it cooked. Everyone devoured it and told me I definitely need to make this over again!
10/20/2014
I liked how simple it was to prepare and how quickly it was prepare. I used spicy sausage which was a nifty complement to the sauce. I also sauteed some onion along with the sausage. It made a expert amount for ii people with three or four servings for left overs. I volition add peas in it the next time I prepare information technology to give it a footling colour (and I love peas in Alfredo dishes). You can add together about any of your favorite spices or vegetables to conform your taste.
12/01/2014
Make the alfredo sauce in a separate pan and incorporate all the ingredients when they're done- since sausage tends to be greasy.
11/21/2014
Yuck
03/23/2015
The sauce on this recipe never really thickened. I recall too much whipping cream was called for and next time I am going to use half the suggested amount as it was soupy to say the to the lowest degree. However, my family unit did love the taste and we used a slotted spoon for serving. The recipe as well calls for a xiv oz. package of sausage, but Hillshire Farms sausage is now a 12 oz. packet and so know that in advance. I will make this again but volition most definitely use less cream.
11/29/2014
I used Andouille sausage and added some sliced onions, served over penne. This was surprisingly good and SUPER fast. The next time I make this, I'thousand adding some veggies - peas and mushrooms would make this KILLER.
02/24/2015
this was a HUGE hit in our household! 2 thumbs upward past all (vii,8, and 10 yrs onetime) must brand again! super easy likewise! will definitely be on our monthly cook list!
12/29/2014
I used bow tie pasta and Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning, with Hillshire Farms Smoked Turkey Sausage. My family loved it! While it might be a lilliputian on the spicy side for a few people, those who don't like spicy should just employ a little less of the seasoning. I would highly recommend this for an piece of cake, only elegant dinner!
12/14/2014
I pretty much followed the recipe exactly, however I used more pasta and then that it was not so soupy. I probably used 12 oz of pasta, instead of 8 oz. I loved this meal and my 3 kids had multiple helpings. Great recipe!
04/27/2015
This was And so easy to brand! Simply that's not even the best part, my 2 year sometime is an extremely picky eater and he loved it! This will definitely be a regular calendar week-night meal :) Oh, and I followed the recipe exactly. No additions and no subtractions.
12/19/2014
I don't have a lot of time to gear up elaborate dinners during the week, then I thought this recipe was fantastic. I likewise sauteed onions and peppers after browning the sausage (I used slightly more sausage). Sausage can be oily, so after I sauteed it, I took information technology out, and drained it very well, patting it down with paper towels; wiped out the skillet, and continued with the recipe. I added peas and mushrooms to mine, and will add sundried tomatoes adjacent time. Great recipe!
02/14/2015
Followed this recipe according to directions but added a little dried onion (because I hate chopping onion!) and cutting up red pepper and it was smashing. I can exist a wimp when information technology comes to spice and I didn't recollect the cajun seasoning added whatsoever heat to the recipe. I did use hot smoked sausage and that added a great season and just enough heat. Will definitely be making this again!
02/17/2015
first-class, kids beloved besides. 2d time I fabricated, I also added andoulle sausage for more season.
05/02/2018
I modify the sauce... Commencement I cook minced garlic with a piffling butter on med heat. So add the cream, cajun seasoning, parsley flakes and melt for nigh 5 min. And then I mix it all upwards in a pot with the already cooked pasta and the already browned sausage. 6 out of vi people in the family Honey information technology. I as well add shrimp to it if I have it.
11/26/2014
We used tricolor rotini which made a nicer presentation, added the peas as suggested, and cut downward on the cajun seasoning for my one picky eater who doesn't like too spicy. I likewise substituted half and half for one/ii of the heavy cream. You could do a variety of spice and vegetable combinations to arrange your gustatory modality. This was easy and super fast and made a great supper. Will definitely be adding this to the rotation!
12/08/2014
Loved this recipe. Made it this night for dinner. Next time I will accept to double the recipe to brand certain to accept enough to feed my army. I'll be calculation more cajun spice the 2tsp was not enough and I'll exist adding some fresh spinach for a veggie and color.
05/twenty/2016
I made this simply my family doesn't like spicy I used garlic and herb seasoning instead of the cajun and it was fantastic
01/22/2015
Fabricated this tonight. Married man and I loved it. Soooo simple to brand. This one is a keeper. =)
04/03/2015
perfection. I merely used more pasta to absorb the sauce. That's how the kids like it.
05/22/2015
Oh my gosh....soooooo good! I made it simply like the recipe with cypher added and it was a hitting! I did accept to apply 1 cup of heavy cream and one cup of one-half-and-one-half considering I ran out of heavy cream. I just let information technology simmer longer to thicken. Delicious!
02/17/2015
Oh then yummy. Next fourth dimension I will use one-half and half just to cut downwardly on the calories.
xi/17/2015
Yes, I'll make it over again. I but added fresh garlic and onions, with the sausages and put parsley on top to stop...
02/02/2015
Very tasty and super easy to make. Will definitely make again. I used some "Emeril's Essense" I had already mixed up from a previous recipe as the cajun seasoning. I never knew an alfredo type sauce was so piece of cake to brand. I don't become why and then many places serve such dreadful alfredos.
12/21/2014
We double, add a can of diced tomato'south, add the peas to the pasta, and utilize milk and some flour for the sauce. LOVE Information technology!!!
12/19/2014
This was so yummy! We all ate too much of it, it was that good! And information technology was very, very like shooting fish in a barrel to throw together. (Annotation: I didn't accept Cajun spice, I used Paprika, which I dearest - and it was very rich and delicious with the cream sauce)
10/12/2014
This was succulent the night it was made, however my bf came home from work and stated that after rehating for lunch it became very dry out.
03/24/2015
Awesome!
10/31/2014
I used penne pasta and Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning.
11/30/2014
came up equally the "recipe of the day" - had not thought near using cajun seasoning. I'm bad well-nigh using recipes as a "suggestion for a place to start" ;). Very flexible for using what y'all take on hand (I had smoked sausage, broccoli, tomato, onion and peas) - nice alternative to chicken alfredo or spaghetti. Adjusted quantities by sight for a family of 3. VERY QUICK and it volition make me look for other sausage recipes, I forget that we similar them!
04/22/2015
So delicious! I love how simple it is merely the flavor is just so powerful. Love it!
03/12/2016
Easy and tasty dish. I didn't change a affair (other than calculation peas), and it was delicious. I was a piddling nervous most the Cajun seasoning since I'yard not a huge lover of spicy foods, but the seasoning just added great flavor. Non besides much rut.
01/eleven/2018
5 stars with my additions. I removed the browned sausage and added onions, minced garlic, frozen peas, and fresh mushrooms to the pan drippings and cooked the vegetables through. Then fabricated the sauce as directed and added the sausage and pasta. I don't buy special spices similar Cajun spice, mainly due to the excessive salt in them. I used the Cajun spice mix recipe on this site and scaled it down to yield the two t. needed for this recipe. My hubby and I love things hot and spicy so I added a fleck more cayenne. I used bow tie pasta...cute and tasty!
01/31/2017
Delicious! I fabricated recipe exactly as listed. I would add more than spice next fourth dimension. A keeper for sure.
01/01/2019
Rich and creamy! Switch it upwards by swapping the cajun seasoning for italian. So good!
05/01/2018
I thought it was delicious. Based on what another reviewer said, I merely used 1.5 cups of cream and that was perfect. Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. Would definitely make once again.
12/05/2018
Fyi dont mix upwardly teaspoons and tablespoons....big flavor departure....I was about to chalk information technology upwardly to a new flavour recipe merely it was my fault for reading incorrectly. Also did angel pilus pasta turned out great other than too salty from too much seasoning.
05/04/2016
This recipe was easy and succulent! I used wide egg noodles instead of fettuccine noodles. It was a little chip watery, though, so I need to either scale back on the heavy cream or tweak something else in my next attempt.
ten/23/2015
This was super yummy! I added fresh spinach to the nearly finished product. Information technology "wilted" in the dish beautifully and added groovy flavor and color!
12/14/2018
I used 12 oz of penne and the sauce was perfect. Not runny at all. I also used shredded Parmesan instead of grated. So GOOD!!
09/fifteen/2015
This was a simple and delicious meal. I love how quick it was. This is a cracking meal to make for a large family unit.
12/05/2014
My family loved this recipe. I did double the sauce. I garnished this recipe with fresh Roma tomatoes and chopped green onions. I doubled the sauce because my family loves sauce. I used two cups of heavy foam and 2 cups of milk. I did have to add 2 T. flour to make the sauce the consistency my family likes. I used Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning because that is what I had on hand. I only added i Tsp. of Creole seasoning equally it is very spicy.
05/03/2017
I am really making this again for dinner this evening. I do cut the heavy foam with half and half some. I ordinarily make extra pasta also. My husband doesn't similar peas but information technology does need something extra and so once I added edamame and another asparagus. Of form I don't have either one in the firm and then may just throw in some spinach I need to employ up.
02/xvi/2016
Nifty recipe. Simple and fast. I cooked bell pepper and jalapeño with the sausage. Was delish!!!
01/14/2018
I couldn't quite find the recipe I was looking for, but thought this ane had promise to use as a base recipe for the ingredients I wanted to use. I added a small amount of oil (less than 1 Tbsp) to the skillet and put in a chopped pepper along with the sausage slices so those could cook together. After those were ready I turned the oestrus down and added broccoli, put on the chapeau and let it heat (I used frozen considering I didn't accept time to apply the fresh I had on hand - either one would work.) Instead of merely plainly pasta, I used 1 one/2 containers of cheese tortellini that I cooked separately. Afterward the broccoli was heated. I added the tortellini to the skillet. I made the sauce equally stated and added that to the skillet with all the other ingredients and mixed information technology well. My family and I really enjoyed it.
05/05/2015
Used a spicy sausage and it was really adept. Quick to make. I dig it.
02/11/2018
I didn't have Cajun seasoning so I used 1/2 tsp cayenne and 1/2 tsp paprika. But plenty heat merely not also spicy for the kids. Amazing meal. Will definitely make again.
03/08/2019
Since I'grand lazy, I bought prepared Alfredo sauce to utilise on one of the occasions that I made this. I also added shrimp and doubled the corporeality of Cajun spice suggested. It was notwithstanding a hit!
05/x/2020
Succulent, easy recipe!
02/21/2020
This recipe was delicious! It was creamy, a piffling spicy, and pretty filling! I used tri-color rigatoni for the pasta, which brightened up the dish. I did have some trouble getting the sauce to thicken, simply considering I was using extra pasta a lot of information technology was soaked up. I would suggest using actress pasta or mayhap cutting back on the heavy cream. This recipe is definitely going to get a regular!
06/25/2016
New family favorite! And then like shooting fish in a barrel & succulent!
04/14/2016
Then piece of cake and yummy! Sautéed red and green bong peppers and onion with the sausage made for dandy flavor. Fifty-fifty my pickiest ones love this!
05/23/2017
Yummy & Creamy!! Made just as directed and will definitely brand over again.
12/10/2019

01/06/2016
Loved this recipe! I did add mushrooms and broccoli to include more variety in the ingredients, but all in all actually tasty.
01/06/2016
I was completely shocked that this was so simple, nonetheless so tasty! Definitely volition make again because my husband said information technology was SUPER good!
08/22/2015
I really enjoyed this recipe. I couldn't stop eating information technology. The family enjoyed it as well. Every bit for those proverb the sauce never thickened, I ran into the aforementioned problem, merely its an like shooting fish in a barrel fix. Merely add together some cornstarch to a very small amount of cool water, stir until it'southward combined, and then add it to the sauce. If it's withal not thickening, do it again. Call up that it volition continue to thicken after you take it off the oestrus, so be careful. Only other than that, this recipe is actually good.
01/07/2016
LOVE this recipe! everyone loves it! you can too add in different veggies - we prefer to add sliced green, red and yellow bong peppers - tastes and looks groovy! I've also washed mushrooms and spinach. Adjacent I'll try asparagus and cherry tomatoes...mmmm.... def a keeper!
04/27/2015
Smashing recipe. Super easy to whip together and whole family loved information technology. Volition definitely be adding this to dinner bill of fare.
11/24/2014
Quick, easy meal that the family liked. Next time I volition add peas like others mentioned and i recollect that volition go far perfect. I did add sautéed onions and garlic and that did help spice it ip slightly. I will definitely make this once more!
03/09/2018
Fast, easy, and good!
09/24/2018
The only problem that I had with this recipe is that there wasn't enough for my family unit. I'll have to double information technology side by side time. Ane other problem was that it was really salty.
04/21/2015
Surprisingly delicious. Added saute'd garlic cloves like another person suggested and used gluten-free pasta. 12 oz. of GF pasta soaked upward the sauce to perfection. As well added some blackening seasoning and at the end added 1/two a bag of steamfresh peas already cooked. My husband and very picky 2 year daughter loved it besides. A recipe worth trying for sure.
07/xi/2015
I made this for my fiance and his son and they loved it, will make it again.
11/xx/2014
My family really liked it. It was so quick and like shooting fish in a barrel to make. I added peas as other reviewers suggested.
11/29/2014
Came out a footling greasy and not much flavour. Might be better with the hot Hillshire Subcontract sausage.
01/28/2016
This was so very yummy! When I was putting abroad the left overs, I was smelling it once again and wanted to eat more, but I was and then stuffed! Nosotros did add nigh a cup extra of the foam to brand sure it had plenty sauce. That was the perfect corporeality.
08/11/2018
Fabricated no alter, will make information technology again
01/23/2017
We added spinach and it was succulent and easy to brand!
01/14/2016
Quick and like shooting fish in a barrel. My family ate information technology up! I added peas, as suggested. I'm looking forward to the leftovers. :)
09/12/2015
This will definitely exist added to the dinner rotation. I added the peas similar the suggestion and added the cajum seasoning to taste. The amount in the recipe was not enough for my taste buds and I added some garlic salt at the end. Yummy
11/10/2015
I made this and followed the about exact directions (I didn't take smoked sausage, I only had Italian). As written, to me, it is a but bit rich and heavy. But a delicious recipe however! Next time I will one-half the heavy cream and sub milk, add more fresh garlic, add some shredded Swiss (too much Parmesan really doesn't melt well) or white sharp cheddar and a bit of salt. Oh and more peas. I added a slight bunch of frozen peas to the pasta at the last minute of cooking, side by side fourth dimension I will add more. Took near 15 minutes for the sauce to thicken for me. Served this with a salad and garlic bread. And information technology re-heated great to me by the fashion. Not heavy. Thank yous for the recipe!
09/12/2015
This recipe is delicious, easy to make, and leaves plenty of leftovers for later(Cooking for two). We tried information technology both every bit the recipe directed (the best way in our opinion), and also with some kielbasa sausage we happened to have. The kielbasa sausage didn't alloy likewise with the flavors but it was still alright. Nosotros will be continuing to endeavour variations even so the original recipe has thus far been the best. The just thing that I might suggest for sausage lovers is to add more sausage. Also, for those complaining of the grease, simply use newspaper towels to drain the grease from the sausage earlier you lot make the sauce. Cooking it all together in the seasoned pan enhances the season.
10/29/2015
Delicious and super like shooting fish in a barrel! Just the right amount of season. I also added broccoli. Will definitely make again!
03/07/2017
Really good comfort food. I made it just like that eh recipe said and it turned out really well. My trivial sister loved it and I am making information technology for her birthday supper.
09/02/2017
I made this for the family. They ate information technology and our teen thought it tasted similar "pepperoni pizza noodles." Which apparently was a compliment because she ate it. My fiance and his girl ate the leftovers. I gave it four stars because my family unit ate it but I didn't think information technology had much flavour. *Note I had to add together a little flour to the sauce to go information technology to thicken up.
12/28/2017
I too used a picayune beef or chicken broth with the heavy cream and parmesan cheese. It is expert with Julian style ruddy, green, and yellow peppers sautéed in it too!
09/01/2017
Nosotros love this dish. I used one-half and half and a couple of added handfuls of grated mozzarella cheese, which thickened information technology up plus added added a wonderful cheesy taste.
07/03/2015
Family LOVES this recipe! Quick, Easy and Delicious Dinner. I add together frozen peas.
02/22/2018
I added peas, minced garlic and onion to it. It was wonderful only a little bland.
09/12/2016
I added sautéed julienne sliced red, yellow, and orange peppers, and baby spinach.
11/09/2016
This was surprisingly good, although I did make some changes. I made it even easier with a jar of Prego Alfredo sauce. Used but 1 tsp of Cajun seasoning because I thought it might be a scrap too spicy for the states. Added peas like others suggested. Both of us really liked it for what it was. No gourmet here, just a simple weeknight meal. There was some leftover and I added some leftover kidney beans to information technology and a little more seasoning. Even better with the beans. I will make this over again sometime, just will add kidney beans and the other tsp of Cajun. Yes, information technology ends up being a new recipe, but if you are going to brand this, yous might try some of my suggestions if they sound like something your family would like
08/12/2019
I have made this quite a few times for my family and information technology is always a striking, even the 2d mean solar day. One of the best quick and easy recipes I have tried on this site. I would not change a affair. I did use a homemade Cajun seasoning recipe from this site likewise.
09/07/2016
So amazingly simple and tasty! Thank you for this!
12/16/2017
Admittedly succulent! I added a little extra cheese. (:
09/07/2016
Flavor wise this pasta dish was very good. But information technology's the kind of nutrient, I can't serve to my family without feeling some guilt. Processed meat is already bad for you without having to add heavy foam to it.. I had to tweak it a little bit to at to the lowest degree cutting downwards on the fat and calorie content. And then for that, I cooked the sliced sausage and removed from the pan and wiped off all the fat rendered, using some paper towels. Then I sauteed some mushrooms in the same pan and put aside with the sausage. I used half and half for the cream. For the Cajun seasoning , I only used half the amount considering of the kids. When the sauce thickened up a bit, I added back the sausage and mushrooms to the pan. Last, but not least, I used whole wheat pasta.
08/09/2018
1 of my favorite recipes! We are not big spicy food lovers so I used garlic and a little chip of black pepper instead. The whole family loved it! :))
08/25/2015
I like this to me it taste similar chilli. and I made this shrimp salad that sense of taste similar pototo salad simply with shrimp
xi/10/2015

09/01/2018
Finally a pasta dish that EVERYONE loved! Simple, easy, and customizable!
10/07/2018
So yummy. Used all beef sausage and it was withal skilful!
06/26/2016
It was ok. We like alfredo and we like smoked sausage but the two together was not a winning philharmonic for u.s.a..
04/12/2017
It's was really adept. I wasn't certain about the Cajun seasoning only information technology works really well. It may accept been me but reheating information technology didn't look practiced.
12/18/2015
I'chiliad glad this came out tasty and it was like shooting fish in a barrel and quick! Also, my 8 year old son ate it all upwardly so that was great! I made the Cajun seasoning from a recipe I establish on this aforementioned website. I but omitted the cerise pepper flakes because the sausage was kinda spicy. I used Farmer Johns Hot Louisiana Smoked Sausage. I added chopped fresh parsley and sliced cherry tomatoes. Adept stuff :)
04/13/2016
Actually good a new favorite in my house!! Substituted the heavy foam for milk and added a bit of flour to assist thicken information technology Up.
08/07/2017
This is also good to exist then elementary! And, I love the twist of the sausage. It adds an awesome season. Can't go wrong with the family, sausage is one of my husband and son'southward most favorite food!
